To disconnect your Genie screw drive garage door opener during a power outage, follow the instructions on the red tag at the top of the door. Pull the red cord at the top of the door. This will release the garage door from the opener, and you can then open the door manually. To reconnect the door to the Genie screw drive opener after the power is back on, simply push up on the lever that the red cord is tied to.
