Not only does it provide great security it is also a must if you have young children. Our toddler was always opening the sliding door and trying to go out, not anymore. Great when we have guests with older kids too, the lock is placed high up so none of them can get to it and go out without us knowing. Excellent + the quality is excellent it will last forever. This sure beats forgetting a broomstick on the side and getting things all jammed up. As a bonus to save energy I installed mine tighter to the edge forcing me to put pressure against the seal and minimize any drafts.A+, what other option do you have but to buy this? I felt that i needed a better way to secure our sliding glass door because the lock that came with it was flimsy. I received the lock in under a week and installed it in no time. You can actually feel that the sliding door is secure. I love the design of the lock.
