We called Scott from Dynamic Garage Doors in Grand Rapids at 3:30PM on a Saturday afternoon. He was at our home at 4:15PM. Scott recommended putting TWO springs on, so they will last twice as long, and if one breaks in the future, the other could still lift the garage door, and we wouldn't be pinned in.

For $30 more it made total sense to do that, and we appreciated this suggestion. Scott's cost with two springs was still below two other quotes we received with one spring. AND, he sprayed everything to lubricate it, so our garage door raises and lowers quietly.
