I bought the bar first then it dawned on me that I had slick ceramic tile laid in the entry way to my apartment. I had to return to the Home Depot store to find a heavy-duty, rubber-backed mat to prevent the bar from slipping. That bar needs to fit as tight a possible under the doorknob.
