Libbey's Wine Glass Box does not say so. Tried putting the etching creme on twice, just looked botched. For regular glass it may do well. I have clear glass plates that I wanted to decorate. I read about this and thought it was the best. Take your time when placing the etch cream between your stencil openings, be careful to not let it bleed under. Pat it on fully, do not brush. (I used a natural bristle paint brush for $1) Do not skimp or be overly generous. Let it sit for at least 7 - 10 minutes. Be careful removing stencil for you do not want the etching to smear.
Rinse the cream off with a medium strong stream of water in a stainless steel sink.. I had read to scrape off the excess cream to use again, not a good idea for the cream WILL etch whatever else it comes in contact with no matter how short the period of time it is on the glass.you will now have a beautiful etched item. This is a lot of cream and you can do MANY MANY MANY projects with it. Easy to use, just be sure to leave it on for much longer than suggested. 5 min left an uneven etch, 1 hour didn't give a clean edge (I think it started to eat away at the vinyl.) 30-45 min was perfect. I cut vinyl stencils using the Cricut machine...it turned out great! i use this along with my cricut machine and vinyl to make really fun and personalized gifts. i love this product! it's great for crafters :) The product is very easy to use, but did leave a slight odor for a few days. It is a great product for creating interesting and decorative designs in all types of glass items.
