DUBLIN, Ohio, March 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, the Dublin Convention & Visitors Bureau announced today that it has welcomed seven new residents – the tiny fairies of the nation's first Irish Fairy Door Trail. The "Irish Fairy Doors of Dublin Trail" will be launched as part of The Irish Fairy Door Company's official U.S. debut on Saturday, March 12 – in the midst of Dublin's already festive St. Patrick's Day celebration. Launched in 2013, the Irish Fairy Door Company has enjoyed rapid growth and many accolades from toy industry and parenting organizations in the UK and beyond. Based in Dublin, Ireland, the toymaker selected Dublin, Ohio as its official launch location in North America.

In keeping with the belief that Irish is an Attitude, the Dublin Convention & Visitors Bureau worked with seven Dublin businesses to install custom-designed, green fairy doors fit for seven new fairies to move in. These doors were made by carpenters in the workshop of a 200-year-old cottage in the heart of Ireland. One by one, the keys to each fairy door disappeared, meaning the fairies were all in place. Starting with a ribbon cutting on Saturday, March 12, the Irish Fairy Doors of Dublin Trail will open to visitors, who are encouraged to pick up a passport-style trail guide and map to facilitate their travels through Historic Dublin. Along the way, visitors will record the names of the magical fairies who live along the trail. Those who complete the passport with all seven fairy names can return to the Visitor Information Center or mail in their passport to the Dublin CVB to receive a complimentary Fairy Doors of Dublin t-shirt. On March 12, one lucky participant will be awarded a $500 U.S. Savings Bond and a donation of Irish Fairy Doors in their name to a children's foundation.
