We had a $5000 door installation scheduled in August. It's now nearly December and it's still not completed. This wasn't a difficult job. 6 interior doors and 3 exterior doors. The measurer was here for 15 minutes and thought it all pretty standard. The installers were fine. But the ineptitude of the Home Depot "door experts" has been incomparable. Won't answer the phone. To achieve any progress we have to go to the store. We've spent a total of 6 hours in-store just trying to get the door manager to enter correct information. She continues to pass blame on the installer, the manufacturer, everyone but themselves. The installers told us this happens at least 50%% of the time due to their mismanagement and miscommunication. Do not use Home Depot for your door installation. Call a direct door dealer/installer instead. I wish I had. RFI installers are great; "Comedy" of errors, but I'm not laughing. After spending over $650, like many things, you just have to accept the result and move on. This was a garage entry replacement door. Install good, door quality not as good. From my experience on the whole project I would say that the install crew was great, but the overall door quality was below my expectation because the sides of my doors had an unfinished quality that made them very difficult to paint, and did not come out to look good on the sides of the doors.

I've looked at the same doors on other homes in my family, and the finish was great compared to mine. I should have returned the doors, but the whole project took to much time, way past my expectation and time budget. The install was completed after a lengthy wait. It took a month before they came to measure and I only got results because I contacted customer care twice. I also had to contact customer c are once before they scheduled the install.
