Ability to work from home when needed (in 108 reviews) Work-life balance can be a challenge (in 183 reviews) There are no cons about this company (in 75 reviews) I have been working at SAP full-time (More than 5 years) Pros Best CEO in the business; right passions and values; Cons Internal processes can hold things back, these are being simplified. Female-male colleague ratio has traditionally been weak area, this is being remedied. Was traditionally dominated by an older demographic, this is now changing fast.

20 Jan 2017 I worked at SAP full-time (More than a year) Pros I joined SAP UK through the Placement Student Program, and it has been an absolutely fantastic experience. My colleagues are easy to get along with, management are receptive to my concerns and always have an open door and I've been given many opportunities to grow - in more than one way, due to the free lunches! Cons Some of the global projects we have been involved in have not lasted longer than a year, usually being stopped in favour of the next new thing, which can lead to a fractured impression of where the company is trying to go.

We are constantly told about how product innovations such as SAP HANA are the future of the company, but in our role we don't have much if any of a connection to this. 17 Jan 2017 I worked at SAP full-time (More than 10 years) Pros Good company culture where despite having 80k plus employees there is a family feel. Good prospects for internal job changes. Flexible working conditions are good Cons Some roles are focused in key countries so country moves may be needed to achieve full career propoects Advice to Management There were a few occasions where transparency and trust were lower than the usual high standard. full-time Pros Good package, lunch facilities etc. Different departments to try if first one doesnt work out. That's about it on positives Cons Should never have joined. HR are faceless and not interested in getting involved. Promises that they're aware that things are wrong and need fixing but still beat you. Just a nasty toxic environment where you are just a number. Very short sighted as good talent just leaves. 4 Jan 2017 Helpful (1) I worked at SAP full-time (More than 10 years) Pros Some great software solutions and pre sales resources to support bid management. Overall some great talent at an operational level. Cons Senior management lack talent, knowledge and desire to support operational people on winning and supporting new SAp clients. Advice to Management Promote and/or recruit better talent for senior management roles and then support them to get the job done. 10 Dec 2016 Pros Flexibility, benefits, challenge, learning, career opps Cons Long hours, internal processes, approvals, some leaders Advice to Management Focus on leadership development 7 Dec 2016 I worked at SAP full-time Pros If you get a good manager with good people skills, can be fantastic.

Cons Beware that some parts of the business have an aggressive, pressurised, macho culture. 18 Dec 2016 Helpful (10) I have been working at SAP full-time (More than a year) Pros - SAP's technology proposition and strategy on the whole, is compelling and is heading in the right direction. As an overall business SAP is positioned well for future growth, providing it can fend off some of the smaller, more nimble and arguably more innovation competitors that exist in the market.- Salary & benefits are competitive. Cons - TOXIC CULTURE: Account Executives at SAP are treated very poorly, absolutely zero respect for individuals. Lots of fear-mongering and politics destroys moral which in turn hampers sales execution. Comradery at all levels is pretty much zilch. There is also a tremendous amount of in-fighting between local and global sales teams as people desperately clamber for revenue (when in most case they've added zero value). I've worked at big global companies and sales-politics will always exist, but this is the next level above and some!- Micro management: SAP is simply obsessed with the term "Cadence".

Sales "leaders"/task-masters spend way too much time grilling AE's on every last piece of detail which again, actually slows down sales execution. This focus originates from a BIG lack of trust in sales; think extreme paranoia multiplied by a ten thousand. Every week AE's have to fill out an excel to say where they've been, who've they've met etc.... treating seasoned sales guys like first year inside sales graduates does not wash.- Chaotic middle-management: huge void in leadership skills across the board.- Hugh attrition: in little over a year nearly my whole team has left, with the bulk of people leaving on their own accord, simply to escape the toxic culture. I was sat in a sales meeting once where a member of SAP's senior leadership team laughed when discussing that the average self-life of a middle-manager is 6 months!I'm surprised/borderline amazed by some of the glowing reviews on Glassdoor on SAP UK. Advice to Management - Invest and train middle-managers on leadership and coaching.- The cultural problem at SAP UK is widely acknowledged at all levels of the business, so act on the feedback and make genuine changes!- Trust your employees to execute, don't micro-manage them.
