I was a little concerned about buying such a prominent piece of my living room from WalMart, but this is simply beautiful and functional. Fold away doors and screens are much better than the chain screen and give the fire a perfect view. The package arrived in 2 days, with no damage. It weighs around 60 pounds, so you may want an extra hand to get it out of the box. We ordered this for a zero clearance, factory built fire place to replace horrible bi-fold doors and sliding protective screens that never worked right. It will work with a masonry fireplace with or without a hearth, but make certain that you measure your opening exactly!! It will NOT work with a pre-fab, zero clearance fireplace WITHOUT modification in order to attach it to the original faceplate. If you have vents, you will have to make cutouts. This fireplace surround is EXTREMELY well built.

It has both glass AND fire screen cabinet style doors with magnetic closers and the fit and finish are great - However, the downside is that you ARE NOT to build a fire and keep the GLASS doors closed!!!! It is also very heavy - 58 lbs.! All in all, it is the best glass/screen door combo I could find. If my wife had liked the color, we would have installed it - so I ended up building my own cabinet style doors from my old bi-fold doors. For a masonry fireplace, these doors can't be beat!!! we had the '80's black with brass bi-fold doors. We replaced with these and I have received so many compliments. My husband installed without any problems. Love the magnetic screen closure and the way the doors swing out instead of those awful bi-fold doors. no complaints about this, very good quality for the price. Seems sturdy and well built. Made in the USA, heavy, gorgeous and only about half hour to install. Friends of ours want it after seeing ours and buying it.
