I trained in Fine Art at Goldsmiths' College, graduating in 1969. I took up glass engraving, which has engaged me since that time. received the Diploma in Advanced Stained Glass at Central St Martin's College of Art & Design. I am also a botanical painter, being elected a member of the Society of Botanical Artists in 1983. My interest in engraving lettering onto glass led me to Roehampton Institute where I graduated with a Diploma in Calligraphy & Bookbinding in I have exhibited my glass and panels in a wide variety of contexts. I am interested in integrating etching, painting and drawing into my work with glass, by working simultaneously on all artistic frontiers. Some of these images were supplied courtesy of my friend Doug Bernhardt. Doug and myself travelled to many ancient public houses of London in a quest for original pub signage, elaborate mirrors & beautifully carved mill work from within these ornate gems we call pubs. This valuable part of our cultural heritage is in danger of disapearing forever as the older pieces of glass get damaged or removed unless we maintain the skills needed to restore or replace them.
