Under the plastic timber print veneer is chipboard. People often ask me why it can't be used outside. This photograph shows why. I describe it like Weetabix. When you put milk on Weetabix it swells and goes mushy. Chipboard does the same but a lot slower. It will swell first then eventually break down. MDF is also not suitable for exterior use.
