The reviews were pretty consistent and decided to make the plunge into the new technology. I purchased it on Amazon as I'm a prime member and do most of my shopping on there.

The lock arrived and as it had to have holes drilled in the door and looked to be a little beyond my 'locksmithing' abilities. Good thing I did as the locksmith we hired (and had used many times in the past) couldn't install the lock. After talking to the manufacturer we were told it was defective and they would send us a new one right away. Due to shipping delays the lock arrived some 4 weeks later. The locksmith came back out and installed the lock. It worked for about a week, and then stopped opening from the inside. We connected with the manufacturer (Actuator Systems LLC) again and their response was it must be a latch issue, we'll send you three new ones. That seemed weird as we only have one lock. I'm guessing this must break often and they don't want to ship multiple times. I called the locksmith back to come install that (my locksmith bill is now over the cost of the lock) and he refused. He didn't want the liability of working on that lock again. In his opinion the product is inferior.
