I used it to give my bathroom more light and it does make the bathroom seem bigger The physical door is about 35 12/16 to 13/16". It's physical height is 78" The eight lets you easily adjust for what you need.. Like i said I got the 36" x 80" but I would assume the a 30" wide you give you the same play. If you needed the width a little narrower I'd carefully plane the edge that connects to the door frame after all it is real wood.

My door space is 32" wide by about 80" high, though the current doors are 79.5" so they don't scrape the carpet. I'm assuming that if necessary we could trim a quarter of an inch off the top and bottom of this door without destroying its integrity, right? Second question is we want the doors to both hinge to the frame and open in the middle, not have a single hinge to the door and then a hinge between the two doors so they fold. Would that be a problem? We could be buy additional hinges / hardware etc as needed. The actual height of the door is 78 5/8” so you would not need to trim nor do we recommend altering our final product. Doing so would void the warranty. It would fit well in your opening and with the adjustment allowed in the hardware, you can raise or lower the door to accommodate your carpet and desired clearance. As I understand your second question, you want one panel on the left and one on the right.
This is not something we accommodate nor do we have the hardware to use them that way. This would be more like a café door where they swing open and stay in an open position. This is not the intent of our bifolds and is outside of our recommendations. Using them other than they are intended would void the warranty. Due to an old house, my doorway is 70-3/8" tall, instead of the standard 80-81". 1. Will this door still fit? What is the exact height of the door, along with any attachments it may have? 2. Will I be able to shave off a 1/2" from both sides using a planer, if it doesn't fit? 3. Does the door attach to the door frame on the side (using the usual hinge mortise & leaf), OR does it swing along a 'hinge' that is on the top & bottom of the door on one side (like accordion or bi-fold doors)?Really interested in the item, but want to make sure it will work before ordering. We do not recommend any trimming to the final product. It will void the warranty. Even if we did recommend it, there wouldn’t be enough to trim to make it fit that much of a difference.
