The windshield actually is major support to your roof in a rollover accident and keeps you in the vehicle upon impact. Both safety features only work if the glass stays in the vehicle frame during an accident. Your best chances of it staying in the frame are when it is the original factory seal and the original OEM glass. Keep your original factory seal ...and original glass by repairing rock damage before it spreads into a large crack and needs replacement. When you do need to replace the glass, ask these four questions of the glass shop before you let them replace your glass; 1. Will you use a Certified Installer on my vehicle? 2. Will you use OEM glass(original equipment) in my vehicle? 3. What is the safe drive away time at today's temperature & humidity. 4. Do you have a guarantee and how long is it? Great job after only a week in business! Got this kit last week, applied it on my car windshield chip and it worked fine. the secret is to apply the kit and leave it there for several hours. I tried on two small holes , 1/4- 1/2 inch size small hole, the dried up glue that filled the hole , just came off after I tried to clean it! I got a rock straight to my windshield on the highway and it left a star shaped crack so I figured I'd use this first before it gets worse. By the time I was finished applying it, there was no sunshine out so I moved my car trying to get the last rays of sunshine but 30 min. later and the curing strip was still wet. I ended up leaving it over night and then moving it into the sun the next day. End result was it did fix some of the crack but you can still see it, so about a 60% cover.

For my first try I think I could've done better. Our other car also got a rock to the window on the highway but it was a chip/bulls eye this time so I figured it'd be easier to fix. I was able to do it properly this time and I could even tell before I put the curing strip on that it had filled the crack. Left it in the sun for a few and it was ready. It did fill the bulls eye great, about a 90% amount of coverage. The only thing was that you can see the dried resin where it entered, like a little white speck you can't wipe off. This thing is set up like the tool that professionals use. I had a bullseye that needed to be filled, and it was super simple to do in my garage. I used a UV lamp (UV nail dryer) to cure the resin, but I'm sure it would work the same in sunlight, it would just take longer. I would also add that it was helpful to tap behind the bullseye to get all of the air bubbles out - basically, if you don't get the bubbles out, they're going to be there forever as a black dot.

There's enough resin left to do this several more times, which I hopefully won't have to do. Unlike other kits, this one is totally reusable, and when I run out of resin, theoretically I can go buy more resin. I looked at two other kits, but only this product offered instructions for fixing cracks. I purchased this in late November, which raised questions in my mind: Is it warm enough? And will I get a sunny day to cure the resin? Since the instructions also recommended a UV light for curing, I asked the company about some of the cheap UV bulbs on the market as well as recommended temperature. Answer#1: "Thank you for contacting us. We would recommend using this product at a temperature above 40 degrees for the best results." Answer #2: "Thank you for contacting us. We would recommend using any light that can output at least 400nm wavelengths. If the bulb you purchased is capable of that then it will be more than enough to cure the resin."
