2008 jeep wrangler soft top 4 door

I'm looking at renting a 2 door Wrangler for our trip, however I do not want the hard top version. Budget is the only company that explicitly states on their website they only offer soft tops in Hawaii. Is this the case with any of the other major rental companies? If there's a likely chance of getting a hard top version I will just go ahead with a regular convertible or hope that Budget has a reasonable price when the time comes to make a reservation. Not positive but I think all the Wranglers are soft top's. I rented one once and won't do it again. With the windows being plastic zip-up, there's no security at all plus the constant wind noise with the plastic windows drove us crazy. My friend and I rented a soft top from Kihei Car rental and I believe they have quite a few. I would give them a call. Ours was the most awesome green color. Clint...my personal experience is from 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008...we haven't rented wrangler the last two yrs. One of the years we used Alamo, three yrs. with Thrifty.
Once a soft-top was the vehicle we were directed to, the other three yrs. we were initially given a hard-top, then asked for a soft-top...each occasion we told them our desire for a soft-top & had to wait (longest 30 mins.) for them to get a soft-top that was recently returned, cleaned, washed & gassed up. I suggest you call the Kahului location of the companies you're considering & ask if they have both hard & soft-top wranglers? wood stove for sale abDon't try to ask them to 'hold one' for you...tried that...they said they would...didn't happen.used garage doors rochester ny If you don't mind possibly waiting a few minutes I wouldn't worry. used commercial storefront glass doors for sale
One destination mentioned in this post If you are familiar with Jeeps, then disregard, but if not............ Jeeps DO NOT drive like a typical car. The ride is much stiffer and they ALL suffer from bump-steer to some degree. As was mentioned, they are noisy, especially when the wind is blowing and you are at highway speeds. Security IS and issue as is luggage/passenger space. Heck, just learning to get in and out of a Jeep can be a challenge for some!!18' x 8' garage door rough opening Lastly, if you are thinking a Jeep would be a nice substitute for a convertible, WRONG! cheapest glass replacement perthWhile the doors come off easily (both metal and cloth versions), the tops are another story. bi fold doors north west
It is a bit involved lowering the top and putting it back up again. Soft-top Jeeps are magnets for break-ins, and nothing will identify you as a tourist with possible valuables quicker than a Jeep, except maybe a convertible. Many people rent them without problems, but why would you want to increase the odds that you'll end up a victim? I'm aware of the downfalls to a Jeep but I think the fun factor is worth it. As far as the break-ins, etc. cheapest glass replacement perthI will just take my chances. Living in a major city where car break-ins are unfortunately just a fact of life makes me a bit less sensitive to it. I'd never leave any valuables in the car in any situation. iPads will be left in the room, phone/wallet etc can stay on me and anything else that cannot be throw into a backpack and/or easily replaced will be left behind. I can assure you that should you choose the Kihei Car rental jeep option, you will not be getting one of those clean, brand new, pretty looking, soft top jeeps!
And that is precisely what made it so very much fun. We had a beat up, lived in, banged around, very cool jeep and spent a 14 hour day in it, doing an epic drive. Never worried about anything in it being stolen cause all we had was our well stocked cooler. We brought our backpacks and camera with us. I agree that the brand new jeeps and convertibles holler tourists at me when I see them. I understand the fun of the convertible, but those huge brand new jeeps are just so big. Ours was a small four seater and reminded me more of a four wheeler. Dengay is right that driving it was different, but my friend was very experienced at this type of vehicle. we were told that all jeep rentals with soft tops were being phased out to hard tops our last trip. we had the option through thrifty for either but the soft top was older and had double the miles on it so we opted for the hard top jeep. I don't see many soft tops anymore. Tons of the hard tops. The soft tops don't hold up well in our climate, and the slitting of the tops/windows raises the cost for the companies, plus makes folks cranky when their stuff is stolen.
We own a soft top jeep and wanted to rent one in Hawaii. I was told by Dollar that all of their jeeps are hard top but the top is in sections for easy removal, so we opted to stay with the jeep.
